Janeé Harteau: Influencing systematic improvements and innovation to 21st century policing

Janeé Harteau, President and Chief Executive Officer for Vitals™ Aware Services, has dedicated her entire professional life to public service. She spent more than 30 years in law enforcement, served as Minneapolis Police Department’s 52nd police chief and the first female chief in the department’s history.

Today, Janeé focuses her attention on results-driven programs that promote and influence systematic improvements and innovation to 21st century policing. Her vision for Vitals™ Aware Services is to become the premier technological resource designed to keep people safe in their homes and elsewhere.

Janeé has a long list of accomplishments and recognitions. In 2017, she was named to Fortune Magazine’s ‘World’s 50 Greatest Leaders‘ for her inspiration in “acknowledging reality and offering hope, bringing followers physically together, and building bridges with others.” That same year, she was name NAWLEE “Woman Law Enforcement Executive of the Year,” also known as the WOLEEY Award. She has also served on the board of directors for both the Major Cities Chief’s Association and the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF).
